Prizes are not transferable. Taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Prize winners will be notified by mail or telephone, beginning on or about March 16, 2009. If any prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, or if a winner does not respond by March 21, 2009, the prize will be forfeited and will be awarded to an alternate winner.
Semi-Finalists will be judged by NaturallyCaron; final winners will be chosen through those that vote on the NaturallyCaron.com website. No minimum age to participate, but minors must have permission from a parent or guardian to play and accept any prize. TO ENTER the NaturallyBaby contest (the “Contest”), knit or crochet a baby-sized blanket in any color or combination of colors using NaturallyCaron.com Spa or NaturallyCaron.com Country yarn, purchased at an A.C. Moore retail store or on ACMoore.com. Locate an A.C.Moore store here. Submit a single mailing entry packet including a color photo of your knit or crocheted baby blanket (do not mail blanket), the UPC codes from the NaturallyCaron.com yarn used to make the blanket, and the store number of the A.C. Moore store where the NaturallyCaron.com yarn was purchased (number located on all cash register receipts) (the “Submission”) and send to:
You should include your name, shipping address, email address (optional) and daytime telephone number along with your Submission. The Contest begins at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time on October 17th and ends at 11:59 Eastern Time on January 31, 2009 (NEW DATE). All Submissions must be received by Caron International at the above addresses or postmarked by 11:59 Eastern Time on January 31, 2009. (NEW DATE) Incomplete or illegible entries and entries without any portion of the Submission, will be disqualified. You may submit multiple, non-duplicate Submissions, but each Submission must be sent separately. The maximum cost of entering depends upon the materials purchased and the number of Submissions for each entrant.
ELIGIBILITY: Open only to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older as of the participation date. Employees, their immediate families, and household members (whether or not related) of Caron International and NaturallyCaron.com (the “Sponsor”), A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts, Inc., ACMoore.com, or their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, advertising, judging, and promotion agencies, and the respective employees of each (the “Sponsor Parties”), are not eligible to win.
The Sponsor Parties are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, illegible, incomplete or incorrect entry forms or Submissions. Entry forms and Submissions will not be returned. By submitting your entry, you hereby certify that you have complied with all the rules of this Contest and that you have committed no fraud or deception in entering this Contest or in claiming any prize.
CONTEST PHASES AND JUDGING: This Contest will have two phases, or rounds. Winner selection will be conducted by the Marketing and Design staff of Sponsor, whose decisions are final. On December 5, 2008, Sponsor’s Marketing and Design Staff will choose six (6) finalists in both the knit and crochet categories from all entries. Each Submission will be judged using the following criteria: (a) Originality (25%); (b) Use of Color (25%); (c) Technique (25%); and (d) Quality (25%). On February 7, 2009, Sponsor will post the Submission images of all six (6) finalists in both the knit and crochet categories on its website and allow website visitors to vote for their favorites. Only one vote per visitor will be counted. At the end of each week, the Submission receiving the LEAST number of votes will be eliminated. Each subsequent week, website visitors will have another opportunity to vote for their favorite Submission from the remaining entries, until only one Grand Prize Winner and a First Runner Up are remaining in each category. In the event of a tie, the winner will be selected based on the Originality criterion. Judging and website voting will continue until March 21, 2009, and winners will be announced on or about March 31, 2009. The odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.
SUBMISSIONS: Your Submission must be original, of your own style and creation, but for inspiration only, feel free to use any of the patterns located in Caron’s NaturallyBaby Journal. Digitally altered images are prohibited. Your Submission may not contain the intellectual property of another party, including without limitation trademarks or copyrights. Your use, and the Sponsor’s and Sponsor Party’s use, of your Submission must not violate the intellectual property, proprietary or other rights of another party. Your Submission must not have been used in commerce or entered in any other competition. Your Submission may not be offensive or defamatory, as determined by the judges, in the judges’ sole discretion. By sending your Submission to the Sponsor, you thereby irrevocably assign and transfer to the Sponsor any and all rights, title and interest in and to the Submission and its use, including without limitation all ideas, concepts, and copyrighted or copyrightable material embodied in or represented by the Submission, and intellectual property rights including without limitation all rights of persons and owners of property appearing therein. You hereby waive any and all moral or similar rights you may have in and to the Submission. For the avoidance of doubt, the Sponsor shall have right to publish, use, edit, adapt and modify the Submission in any way without territorial, time, use or other restrictions, and for any and all purposes, including but not limited to advertisements, in any and all media now known hereafter to become known worldwide without further compensation to you or any other person or entity. The Sponsors or Sponsor Parties may, but shall not be obligated to, publish your Submission in a circular, flyer, pamphlet, catalog or the like.
IMPORTANT: Entry constitutes permission to use winner’s name, entry information, and likeness for publicity purposes without further compensation (except where prohibited by law). Sponsor and the Sponsor Parties, their parent companies, and their affiliates shall have no liability for any, and you shall release, indemnify and hold Sponsor and the Sponsor Parties harmless from and against all, judgments, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including without limitation, reasonable attorney’s fees and attorney’s disbursements) arising out of or incurred in connection with any claims, actions, suits, or other proceedings against the Sponsor or the Sponsor Parties arising out of or resulting from, directly or indirectly, your Submission or its use, and the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize in this Contest, or participation in this Contest. This Contest and all matters arising out of or related to this Contest shall be in all respects governed by, and construed, and enforced in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania without giving effect to its rules relating to conflict of laws. Any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved exclusively in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. If, for any reason, this Contest is not capable of being conducted as planned, including without limitation, due to tampering, unauthorized intervention, printing or typographical errors, fraud, or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor or the Sponsor Parties that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, the Sponsor and the Sponsor Parties reserve the right at their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend this Contest. Offer void where prohibited by law and subject to federal, state and local laws.
