Next row (WS): P, dec 16 sts evenly across row—52 (56, 60, 64) sts.   Change to smaller needles Work in k1, p1 ribbing for 1 (1, 1, 1 ½)", end with a WS row and inc 16 sts evenly spaced across last row—68 (72, 76, 80) sts. Change larger needles. Work in St st until piece measures 1 ½ (1 ½, 2, 3)" from top of ribbing.

Shape armholes

BO 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st at each edge every other row 4 (4, 5, 5) times—52 (56, 58, 62) sts. Work until piece measures 15 (16 ½, 19 ½, 23 ½)" from beg, end with a WS row.

Shape shoulders

BO 15 (16, 17, 18) sts at beg of next 2 rows. BO rem 22 (24, 24, 26) sts for center Back neck.

LEFT FRONT BODICE

Using larger needles and MC, with RS facing, k22 (24, 24, 26) sts from holder, CO 24 (24, 28, 28) sts—46 (48, 52, 54) sts. Work in St st until piece measures same as Right Front to armhole, end with a WS row.

Shape Armholes 

Next Row (RS): BO 4 sts at beg of row, work to end—42 (44, 48, 50) sts.

Dec 1 st at armhole edge every other row 4 (4, 5, 5) times; AT SAME TIME, dec 1 st 2 sts from Left Front edge on RS row every row 23 (24, 26, 27) times as follows: K to last 4 sts, k2tog, k2. Work even until armhole measures 4 ½ (5, 5 ½, 6)" from beg of shaping, end with a WS. BO rem 15 (16, 17, 18) sts loosely.

 

SLEEVES

Using larger needles and MC, CO 31 (31, 33, 35) sts.

Repeat Rows 1 – 8; AT THE SAME TIME, inc 1 st at each edge every 4th row 7 (8, 9, 9) times, keeping inc sts in St st—45 (47, 51, 53) sts. Work until piece measures 7 (8, 10, 12)" from beg, end with a WS row.

Shape Cap

BO 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows.

Dec row (RS): K2, sl 1, k1, psso, work in patt to the last 4 sts k2 tog, k2.

Continue in patt and repeat dec every other row 12 (13, 15, 16) times in all. BO 2 sts at beg of next 4 rows. BO rem 5 sts.

 

POCKET (make 2)

Using larger needles and MC, CO 14 sts.

Work in St st for 3 ¾", end with a WS row.

BO.

 

FINISHING

Block pieces to measurements.  Sew shoulder seams. Sew sleeves in place. Sew side and sleeve seams.

Tack Left Front in place under Right Front. Sew pockets in place (see photo).

Embroidery

Using tapestry needle and A for flowers and B for stem, embroider flowers and stem on Right Front along neck (see photo).
