KNITTED MEASUREMENTS

Chest 21(22, 23, 24½, 27)”

GAUGE

In Stockinette st, 22 sts and 28 rows = 4”/10cm

 

STITCHES USED

Stockinette stitch: Knit 1 row, purl 1 row.

Garter stitch:Worked back and forth, knit every row; worked in-the-round, knit 1 round, purl 1 round.

BODY

Front

Cast on 58 (61, 64, 68, 75) sts. Work in Garter st for 6 rows. Change to Stockinette st. and work even until piece measures 6 (6½, 6 ½, 7, 8 ½)” from beg, end with a WS row. 

Sleeves

Cast on 42 (44, 46, 46, 56) sts at beg of next 2 rows—142 (149, 156, 160, 187) sts. Change to Garter st and work even until sleeve measures 1½ (1½, 2, 2, 2)” from cast on row, end with a WS row. 

Shape neck

Next row (RS): K68 (71, 74, 76, 89) sts, sl next 6 (7, 8, 8, 9) sts onto holder for center front, attach another skein of yarn, k68 (71, 74, 76, 89) sts. Working both sides at the same time continue in Garter st, dec 1 st at neck edge every RS row 8 times—60 (63, 66, 68, 81) sts each side. Work even until sleeve measures 4 (4, 4½, 4½, 4½)” from cast on row, end with a WS row.

Back

Next row (RS): K60 (63, 66, 68, 81) sts of one sleeve, cast on 22 (23, 24, 24, 25) sts for Back neck, k60 (63, 66, 68, 81) sts of second sleeve dropping 2nd skein of yarn—142 (149, 156, 160, 187) sts. Work even in Garter st until sleeve measures 7 (7, 8, 8, 8)” from cast on row, end with a WS row. Bind off 42 (44, 46, 46, 56) sts at beg of next 2 rows—58 (61, 64, 68, 75) sts. Change to Stockinette st and work for 6 (6 ½, 6 ½, 7, 8 ½)". Work in Garter st for 6 rows. Bind off all sts.    

Neckband

With RS facing and 16” circular needle, pick up and k22 (23, 24, 24, 25) Back neck sts, 16 sts along side edge of neck, k6 (7, 8, 8, 9) sts from Front holder, pick up and k16 sts along side edge of neck—60 (62, 64, 64, 66) sts. Place marker on needle and join. Work around in Garter st (p 1 rnd, k 1 rnd) for 8 rows.  Bind off loosely.

 

Finishing

Sew side and sleeve seams.  Weave in yarn ends.
