Scarf measures approximately 81"/205.5 cm long x 9"/23 cm wide

 

GAUGE

In pattern, using US D-3 (3.25mm) hook, 25 stitches and 11 rows = 4"/10cm.

Chain (ch), double crochet (dc), single crochet (sc), slip stitch (slip st)

 

SPECIAL TERMS

beg block: Beginning block –Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next 2 sts or chs.

block: Block – Dc in next 2 sts or chs.

mesh: Mesh – Ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st or ch.

 

NOTES

1. The first ten rows are given in row-by-row instructions. Continue to work blocks and mesh according to chart.

2. Beginning chain counts as first dc throughout.

SCARF

Chain 59.

Begin Chart

Row 1 (RS): Dc in fourth ch from hook, dc in next ch (beg block made), dc in each remaining ch across (27 blocks made), turn—28 blocks.

Rows 2 and 3: Ch 3, dc in each st across, turn.

Row 4: Ch 3, dc in next 2 sts (beg block made), [ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st (mesh made)] 26 times, dc in last 2 sts (block made), turn—2 blocks and 26 mesh.

Row 5: Repeat Row 4.

Row 6: Repeat Row 2.

Row 7: Repeat Row 4.

Row 8: Work beg block, 6 mesh, 2 blocks, 7 mesh, 2 blocks, 9 mesh, 1 block, turn.

Row 9: Work beg block, 8 mesh, [4 blocks, 5 mesh] twice, 1 block, turn.

Row 10: Work beg block, 5 mesh, 5 blocks, 4 mesh, 5 blocks, 7 mesh, 1 block, turn.

Rows 11–84: Continue working blocks and mesh as shown in chart.

Repeat Rows 19–84 twice.

Repeat Row 4 three times.

Repeat Row 2 once.

Repeat Row 4 twice.

Repeat Row 2 three times. Fasten off.

 

FINISHING

Using yarn needle, weave in all ends. Block lightly.
