In St st, using size U.S. 6 (4mm) needles, 21 sts and 26 rows = 4"/10 cm

 

STITCHES USED

Eyelet Pattern (multiple of 10 sts + 1):

Row 1 (RS): *K1, yo, k3, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k3, yo; rep from *, end k1.

Rows 2, 4 and 6: Purl.

Row 3: K2,*yo, k2, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k2, yo, k3; rep from *, end yo, k2, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k2, yo, k2.

Row 5: K3, *yo, k1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1, yo, k5; rep from *, yo, k1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1, yo, k3.

Row 7: K4, *yo, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yo, k7; rep from *, end yo, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yo, k4.

Single crochet (sc)

BACK

CO 61 (71, 81, 91) sts.

Work in eyelet patt until piece measures approx 8 ½ (10, 12 ½, 13 ½)" from beg, ending with patt Row 7

Next row (WS): Knit. Change to St st and work until piece measures 9 ½ (11 ½, 14, 16)” from beg, end with a WS row.

Shape Armholes

BO 4 (4, 4, 5) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each edge every other row 5 (5, 6, 7) times—43 (53, 61, 67) sts. Work even until armholes measure 5 (5 ½, 6, 6 ½)", end with a WS. BO all sts loosely.

 

LEFT FRONT

CO 31 (41, 41, 41) sts. Work in eyelet patt until piece measures approx 8 ½ (10, 12 ½, 13 ½)" from beg, ending with patt Row 7.

Next row (WS): Knit. Change to St st and work until piece measures 9 ½ (11 ½, 14, 16)” from beg, end with a WS row; AT THE SAME TIME, beg dec 1 st at neck edge every 4th (2nd, 2nd, 2nd) row.

Shape Armhole and neck

(RS): BO 4 (5, 5, 5) sts at beg of next row, then dec 1 st at side edge every other row 5 times; AT THE SAME TIME, cont dec 1 st at neck edge every 4th (2nd, 2nd, 4th) row a total of 8 (15, 13, 11) times—14 (16, 18, 20) sts.Work even until armhole measures same as Back to shoulder. BO remaining sts.

 

RIGHT FRONT

CO 41 (51, 51, 51) sts. Work in eyelet patt until piece measures approx 8 ½ (10, 12 ½, 13 ½)" from beg, ending with patt Row 7. 

Next row (WS): Knit. Change to St st and work until piece measures 9 ½ (11 ½, 14, 16)” from beg, end with a WS row; AT THE SAME TIME, beg dec 1 st at neck edge every 2nd row.

Shape Armhole and neck

(RS): BO 4 (5, 5, 5) sts at beg of next row, then dec 1 st at side edge every other row 5 times; AT THE SAME TIME, cont dec 1 st at neck edge every 2nd row  a total of 18 (25, 23, 21) tines—14 (16, 18, 20) sts. Work even until armhole measures same as Back to shoulder. BO remaining sts.

 

FINISHING

Block pieces to measurements. Sew shoulder seams.

Neckband

With RS facing and crochet hook size D/3, work 1 row sc, then 1 row Rev sc up Right front around Back neck and down Left Front. Work 1 row sc, then 1 row Rev sc around armholes.

Tie

Join double strand of yarn at beg of left front V-neck dec and make a 9” chain. Work sc in each ch. Fasten off.  Join double strand of yarn at beg of right front V-neck and make a 9” chain and complete as for left front chain.

Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.
