SPECIAL TECHNIQUE
Chain 4: Knit next st, [than move back to left hand needle, K1] 3 times

Bind off picot edging:

Row 2 (RS): K1, (work row 2 of Lace Panel across 13 sts) 6 (7, 8) times.

Row 4: K1, (work Row 4 of Lace Panel across 13 sts) 6 (7, 8) times.

Row 6: K1, (work Row 6 of Lace Panel across 13 sts) 6 (7, 8) times.

Row 8: K1, (work Row 8 of Lace Panel across 13 sts) 6 (7, 8) times.

Row 10: K1, (work Row 10 of Lace panel across 13 sts) 6 (7, 8) times.

Cont even in St st until piece measures 16 1/2 (18, 19 1/2)" from beginning, end with a WS row.

Neck Shaping: (RS) K30 (33, 36) sts, attach new ball of yarn, bind off center 19 (20, 27) sts, k to end. Working on both sides at the same time, dec at each neck edge every other row 2 sts once, then 1 st once  – 27 (33, 36) sts. Work even until piece measures same as Front. Bind off all sts.
 

SLEEVES

With straight needles, cast on 53 (66, 66) sts. 
Establish Pattern:

Row 1 and all odd rows (WS): Purl.

Row 2 (RS): K1, [work Row 2 of Lace Panel across 13 sts] 4 (5, 5) times.

Row 4: K1, (work Row 4 of Lace Panel across 13 sts) 4 (5, 5) times.

Row 6: K1, (work Row 6 of Lace Panel across 13 sts) 4 (5, 5) times.

Row 8: K1, (work Row 8 of Lace Panel across 13 sts) 4 (5, 5) times.

Row 10: K1, (work Row 10 of Lace panel across 13 sts) 4 (5, 5) times.

Continue in established pattern for 28 rows more in Lace pattern, inc 1 (0, 4) st(s) at end of last row – 54 (66, 70) sts.

Cont even in St st until piece measures 19" from beginning, end with a WS row. Bind off all sts.
 

FINISHING

Block pieces to measurements.  Sew shoulder seams. Set in Sleeves; sew sleeve and side seams.

Picot Edging: With RS facing, using circular needles, starting at edge of Right Front, pick up and k93 (99, 105) sts along Right Front to shoulder seam, 31 (35, 39) sts around neckline, 93 (99, 105) sts along Left Front – 217 (233, 249) sts. Do not join. Purl next row. Bind off in Picot Edging (see special Stitch Technique), ending with chain 4 in last st. Fasten off.

Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
