KNITTED MEASUREMENTS Upper wristlet circumference 7 ”/18cm (slightly stretched)
GAUGE In Stockinette stitch using larger needles, 20 sts and 24 rows /rnds = 4”/10cm
NOTES The staggered mesh pattern is worked back and forth on straight needles, then wristlets are seamed. (Or) It can be worked in-the-round on double-pointed needles.
STITCHES USED K1, p1 rib. Staggered Mesh Pattern (worked back and forth on straight needles): Row 1 (RS): K1, *yo, k2tog; rep from * to end. Row 2 (WS): Purl. Row 3 (RS): K2, *yo, k2tog; rep from * to end. Row 4 (WS): Purl. Rep Rows 1-4 for Staggered Mesh patt worked on straight needles. Staggered Mesh Pattern (worked in-the-round on dpns): Rnd 1: K1, *yo, k2tog; rep from * around. Rnd 2: Knit. Rnd 3: K2, *yo, k2tog; rep from * around. Rnd 4: Knit. Rep Rnds 1-4 for Staggered Mesh patt worked in-the-rnd on dpns.
WRISTLETS (worked back and forth on straight needles): With larger straight needles, CO 40 sts.36 sts Change to smaller straight needles. Work back and forth in k1, p1 rib for 15 rows. Change to larger straight needles. Work back and forth in Staggered Mesh patt until 32 rows have been completed. Work in k1, p1 rib for 4 rows. BO in rib.
WRISTLETS (worked in-the-rnd on dpns) With larger dpns, CO 36 sts. Join, placing marker at beg of rnd. Change to smaller dpns. Work around in k1, p1 rib for 15 rnds. Change to larger dpns. Work around in Staggered Mesh patt until 32 rnds have been completed. Work around in k1, p1 rib for 4 rnds. BO in rib.
FINISHING Block wristlets if needed. Sew seams for wristlets worked flat. Using yarn needle, weave in loose ends. |
