GAUGE In Garter Stitch using size 5 needles, 22 sts and 40 rows = 4”/10 cm In Slip Stitch Pattern using size 6 needles, 22 sts 48 rows = 4"/10 cm
STITCHES USED Garter Stitch Knit every row. Slip Stitch Pattern (multiple of 5 sts plus 3): Note: Slip all sts as if to purl; on WS (even) rows, hold yarn in front when slipping st. Rows 1-4: With MC, k1, sl 1, *k4, sl 1; repeat from * to last st, k1. Rows 5-6: With CC. k. Rows 7-10: With MC, k3, *sl 2, k3; repeat from * to end. Rows 11-12: With CC, k. Repeat Rows 1-12 for Slip St pattern.
BLANKET With MC and smaller size circular needle, CO 148 sts. Do not join. (WS): With MC, k. With CC, k 2 rows. Change to larger circular needle and MC. Begin Slip St pattern and repeat the 12-row Slip St pattern 31times. Note: Blanket should measure approximately 30”. Repeat Rows 1-4 of Slip St pattern once more. Change to smaller size circular needle. With CC, k 2 rows. With MC, k 1 row. BO. Edging With RS facing, using smaller size circular needle and CC, pick up approximately 175 sts along side edge of afghan (approximately 7 sts for 15 rows -- just under 1 st every 2 rows). Do not join. With CC, k 1 row. With MC, k 1 row. BO all sts. Repeat on other side edge of blanket.
FINISHING Using yarn needle, weave in all ends. |
