(75% Microdenier Acrylic/25% Merino Wool; 3oz/85g, 185yds/170m):
#0003 Soft Sunshine: 4(4, 5, 6, 6) balls

One size US 7 (4.5mm) circular needle 32”/73.5cm or longer for body and yoke;

16”/40.5cm or shorter, or set of 4 double-pointed needles for sleeves or size to obtain gauge

4 stitch markers

2  buttons, 1 ½"/4cm diameter

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Bust 36 (40, 44, 48, 52)"/91.5 (101.5, 112, 122, 132)cm

GAUGE

In Stockinette St, with size US 7 (4.5mm) needles, 16 sts and 26 rows = 4"/10cm (blocked)

 

BODY

With longer circular needle, CO 141 (159, 177, 189, 207) sts. Do not join.

Rows 1-6: Beg on WS, work in garter st (k every row).

Row 7 (WS): K3, *p3, k3; repeat from * across.

Row 8 (RS): K across.

Repeat Rows 7 and 8 for patt until piece measures 10 (10, 11, 11, 12)" from CO edge, ending on RS with patt Row 8.

Divide for front and back:

(WS): Maintaining est patt, work 31 (36, 40, 41, 46) sts for left front, BO 8 (8, 8, 12, 12) sts for underarm, work 63 (71, 81, 83, 91) sts for back, BO 8 (8, 8, 12, 12) for underarm, work rem 31 (36, 40, 41, 46) sts for right front. Do not cut yarn, set aside.

 

SLEEVES

With shorter circular needle, CO 54 (60, 60, 66, 72) sts. Join, being careful not to twist sts, placing marker at beg of rnd.

Rnds 1-6: Work around in garter st (p 1 rnd, k 1 rnd).

Rnd 7: *K3, p3; repeat from * around.

Rnd 8: K.

Repeat Rnds 7 and 8 for patt until piece measures 10 (10, 11, 11, 12)" from CO edge, ending with patt Rnd 8.

Next 2 rnds:  Work in est patt until 4 (4, 4. 6, 6) sts before marker. BO 8 (8, 8, 12, 12) sts for underarm (removing marker), then continue in patt as established to end of rnd—46 (52, 52, 54, 60) sts. Cut yarn, leaving a long enough tail to weave in. Work second sleeve.

Yoke

Row 1 (RS): K31 (36, 40, 41, 46) right front sts, pm, k46 (52, 52, 54, 60) sts from one sleeve, pm, k63 (71, 81, 83, 91) back sts, pm, k46 (52, 52, 54, 60) sts from second sleeve, pm, k31 (36, 40, 41, 46) left front sts—217 (247, 265, 273, 303) sts.

Rows 2 and 4 (WS): K3, purl to last 3 sts, k3..

Row 3 (RS): K12 (14, 16, 17, 21), (k2tog, yo), k to 4 sts before right front marker, (k2tog, yo), ssk; sm, k2tog, (k2tog, yo), k11 (13, 12, 13, 15), (k2tog, yo), k12 (14, 17, 17, 19), (k2tog, yo), k to 4 sts before right sleeve marker, (k2tog, yo), ssk; sm, k2tog, (k2tog, yo), k13 (15, 16, 17, 19), (k2tog, yo), [k12 (14, 17, 17, 19), (k2tog, yo)] 2 times, k to 4 sts before back marker, (k2tog, yo), ssk; sm, k2tog, (k2tog, yo), k11 (13, 11, 12, 14), (k2tog, yo), k12 (14, 17, 17, 19), (k2tog, yo), k to 4 sts before left sleeve marker, (k2tog, yo), ssk; sm, k2tog, (k2tog, yo), k13 (16, 18, 18, 19), (k2tog, yo), k to end of left front—8 decs.

Row 5 and all odd numbered rows: Maintaining est patt, keep 3 sts at each front edge in garter st, work (yo, k2tog) above previous (k2tog, yo) patts on next RS row, then (k2tog, yo) above previous (yo, k2tog) on next RS row to stagger eyelets as well as maintain the four sets of raglan decs—8 decs.

Row 6: K3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.

Repeat Rows 5 and 6 until yoke measures  3 ¾ (4, 4 ½, 5, 5)", ending with a WS row.

Border

Rows 1, 3 and 5: *K to 2 sts before marker, ssk, sm, k2tog; repeat from * across all markers, k to end.

Rows 2, 4 and 6: K3, p to last 3 sts, k3.

BO.

Buttonhole Placket

CO 12 sts.

Rows 1-6: Beg on WS, work in garter st.

Row 7, 9, 11 (WS): K 3, p6, k3.

Row 8, 10, 12: K.

Row 13: K3, BO 4 sts, k3

Row 14: K3, CO 6 sts, k3.

Rows 15–28: Repeat rows 7 – 14, then rows 7 – 12 one more time.

Rows 28-33. K.

BO.

 

FINISHING

Sew underarm seams. Sew button placket to top of right front. Sew buttons opposite buttonholes.

Using yarn needle, weave in ends and block.
