FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

One wristlet measures approximately 8"/20.5cm long and 7-8"/18-20.5cm circumference (slightly stretched)

GAUGE

In single crochet, 15 sts and 17 rows = 4"/10cm.

STITCHES USED

Chain (ch), single crochet (sc), slip stitch (sl st)

NOTES

This is a very straight-forward design. You can vary the pattern as desired. Here are some possible changes:

1. You may have enough yarn to make each wristlet 1"/2.5cm longer. To make each wristlet longer, work 3-4 more chains when beginning.

2. If using the number of stitches specified in the pattern, enough yarn remains to work a row of (5 dc) shell stitches across the top or wrist edge.

3. Create a simple thumb opening, by sewing a stitch or two between the thumb and first finger.

4. Sew buttons evenly spaced along one side edge of each wristlet.
5. For slender wrists, test the wristlets before you've finished the last 4 rows to be sure they will fit.

WRISTLET (make 2)

Ch 31.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch across, turn—30 sc.

Rows 2–31: Ch 1, working in back loops only, sc in each sc across, turn.

Do not fasten off. Fold wristlet in half, bringing first row up to meet last row.

Last Row (joining row): Working through both thicknesses, sl st in each st across. Note: If desired, the first row and last row can be sewn together, instead of working sl sts.

Fasten off.

FINISHING

Using yarn needle, weave in all ends. Sew five buttons evenly spaced across seam of each wristlet (optional).
