GAUGE

In Body Lace Pattern using size US 10 (4 mm) needle, 11 sts and 15 rows = 4"/10 cm

 

SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS

Ssk [ssp] -- Slip, slip, knit [purl]: Slip 2 sts, one at a time knitwise to right-hand needle, return sts to left-hand needle in turned position and knit [purl] them together through back loops (1 st decreased).

BODY

With two strands of yarn held together and circular needle size 10, CO 184 sts. Do not join.

Work in Body Lace Pattern as follows:

Row 1 (RS): *K4, k2tog, yo; repeat from *, end k4.

Rows 2 and 4: Purl.

Row 3: K3, *k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k1; repeat from *, end k1.   

Row 5: K2, k2tog, *yo, k3, yo, sl2-k1-p2sso; repeat from *, end yo, k3, yo, ssk, k1.

Row 6: Purl.

Rep Rows 1-6 for Body Lace Pattern until piece measures 24” from beginning. BO loosely.

Border Lace Pattern

With single strand of yarn and straight needles size 6, CO 19 sts.

Row 1 (RS): K4, k2tog, yo, k5, k1, (yo, k2tog) 2 times, (yo, k1) 3 times – 22 sts.

Row 2: Sl 1, (k1, p1) 5 times, p11.

Row 3: K3, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k4, (yo, k2tog) 2 times, (yo, k1) 4 times, yo, k2 – 27 sts.

Row 4: Sl 1, (p1, k1) 7 times, end p12.

Row 5: K2, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, ssk, k3, (yo, k2tog) 7 times, yo, k1 – 28 sts.

Row 6: Sl 1 (k1, p1) 8 times, p11.

Row 7: K1, k2tog, yo, k5, yo, ssk, k2, (yo, k2tog) 2 times,  k12 – 28 sts.

Row 8: Bind off 9 sts, (p1, k1) 3 times, p12 – 19 sts rem.

Repeat Rows 1-8 for Border Lace Pattern for approximately 68”, ending after completing a pattern repeat. BO all sts on last row.

 

FINISHING

Sew Border Lace Pattern to base of throw. With RS facing and crochet hook, work 1 row single crochet up one side, across top and down other size or Throw/Shawl. Fasten off.

Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
