STITCHES USED Lace Rib Pattern (Multiple of 4 sts) Rnd 1: * K2, p2; repeat from * around. Rnd 2: * K2, p2; repeat from * around. Rnd 3: *Tw2, p2; repeat from * around. Rnd 4: * K1, yo, k1, p2; repeat from * around. Rnd 5: * K3, p2; repeat from * around. Rnd 6: * K2tog, k1, p2; repeat from * around. Repeat Rnds 2 - 6 for Lace Rib.
CUFF Cast on 40 sts; distribute sts evenly on 4 dpn. Join to work in the round; place a marker (pm) for beginning of round. Begin Lace Rib; work even until piece measures 5" from beginning, end with Rnd 6 of Lace Rib pattern. Thumb Next Rnd: K2, p1; pm, p1, k2, p1, pm; p1, continue in pattern as established around. Shape Thumb Beginning this rnd, inc 1 st after the first marker and before the second marker every other rnd 4 times—8 sts increased between markers for Thumb. Next Rnd: Work to first marker, bind off 12 sts for Thumb opening, work to end of rnd. Continue in Lace Rib, joining sts over bound off sts as you come to them, to continue working in the round. Work even until piece measures 9" from beginning. Bind off all sts loosely in pattern. Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
