#0005 Ocean Spray (A) 4 ½ oz;

#0003 Soft Sunshine (B), 3 ½ oz;

#0007 Naturally (C), 3 ½ oz

KNITTED MEASUREMENTS

Approximately 31" x 35"

 

GAUGE

In Butterfly st, 20 sts and 24 rows = 4"/10cm

In Garter st, 20 sts and 30 rows = 4"/10cm

 

STITCHES USED

Garter stitch: Knit every row.

Butterfly Stitch (mult of 10 + 9)

Rows 1, 3, 5 & 7 (RS): With B, k2, *wyif sl 5 sts, k5; rep from * across, ending sl 5, k2.

Row 2 and all even rows: Purl.

Row 9: Change to next color. k4, *insert RH needle through the 4 strands from below, then k next st bringing the k st through the loops, k 9; rep from *, ending last rep k4.

Rows 11, 13, 15 and 17: *K7, *wyif sl 5, k5; rep from *, ending sl 5, k7. Change to A.

Row 19: Change to next color, k9, *insert RH needle through the 4 strands from below, then k the next st bringing the k st through the loops, k9; rep from * across.

Row 20: Purl.

Rep Rows 1-20 for Butterfly st.

Color Sequence

Ocean Spray (A), Soft Sunshine (B), and Naturally (C)

 

NOTE

Always slip stitches purlwise.

 

BLANKET

With A, cast on 149 sts. Work in Garter st for 7 rows. Change to color B and beg Butterfly st pattern. Rep Rows 1-20 changing to the next color in sequence on Rows 9 and 19 until piece measures approximately 34" from beg, ending on Row 8 or 18 with color C. Work Row 9 or 19 with A and k 7 rows for Garter st. BO all sts, BUT, do not end off on the last st.

 

FINISHING

Side Borders: With RS facing and A, pick up approx. 186 sts along left edge of RS of Blanket. Work in Garter st for 7 rows.  Bind off. Work same for right edge of Blanket. .

Weave in loose ends.  Block to measurements.
