Foundation Row: *K1, p1; repeat from * to last st, k1 for seed st.

Row 1 (RS): With B,  k2, *sl 1wyif, k1, repeat from * to last st, k1.

Row 2: With C, purl.

Row 3: With A,  k3, *sl 1 wyif, k1, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.

Row 4: With B, purl.

Row 5: With C, k2, *sl 1 wyif, k1, repeat from * to last st, k1

Row 6: With A, purl.

Row 7: With B, k3, *sl 1 wyif, k1, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.

Row 8: With C, purl.

Shape Armholes

Bind off 7 (7, 8) sts at beg of next 2 rows—55 (59, 61) sts rem.

Next row: K1, k2tog, pat to last 3 sts, ssk, k1.

Next row: Work in pat.

Repeat last 2 rows 5 more times - 43 (47, 49) sts rem.

Continue to work even, in pat until 50 (52, 54) rows completed from beg of armhole.

Place sts on stitch holder.

 

RIGHT FRONT

With A, cast on 33 (35, 37) sts.

Work same as for back until 47 (57, 67) rows completed.

Shape Armhole

Next row (WS): Bind off 7 (7, 8) sts at beg of row, pat to end of row—26 (28, 29) sts rem.

Next row: Work in pat to last 3 sts, ssk, k1.

Next row: Work in pat.

Repeat last 2 rows 5 more times - 20 (22, 23) sts rem.

Work even in pat until 40 (42, 44) rows completed from beg of armhole.

Shape Neck

Next row (RS): Work 6 (7, 7) sts and then place on a holder, k1, ssk, pat to end of row—13 (14, 15) sts rem.

Next row: Work in pat.

Next row: K1, ssk, pat to end of row.

Repeat last 2 rows once more - 11 (12, 13) sts rem.

Continue to work even in pat until 50 (52, 54) rows completed from beg of armhole.

Place sts on a holder.

 

LEFT FRONT

With A, cast on 33 (35, 37) sts.

Work same as back until 46 (56, 66) rows completed.

Shape Neck

Next row (WS): Work 6 (7, 7) sts, place these sts on a holder, pat to end of row—13 (14, 15) sts rem.

Next row: Work in pat to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1.

Next row: Work in pat.

Repeat last 2 rows once more - 11 (12, 13) sts rem.

Continue to work even in pat until 50 (52, 54) rows completed from beg of armhole.

Place sts on a holder.

 

FINISHING

Join shoulder seams, using 3 needle bind off. Leave center 21 (23, 23) sts at center neck on a holder.

Neckband

With RS facing and A, pick up and knit 6 (7, 7) sts from right front holder, 12 sts along right front neck edge, 21 (23, 23) sts from back neck holder, 12 sts along left neck edge, 6 (7, 7) sts from left front holder--57 (61, 61) sts.

Next row (WS): Purl.

Next row: Knit.

Repeat last 2 rows once.

Next row: Purl.

Next row: Knit, inc 6 sts evenly spaced across row - 63 (67, 67) sts.

Next row: Purl.

Hood

Row 1: With B, k1, m1, k1, *sl 1 wyif, k1, repeat from * to last st, m1, k1 - 65 (69, 69) sts.

Row 2: With C, purl.

Row 3: With A, k1, m1, k2, *sl 1 wyif, k1, repeat from * to last 2 sts, m1, k1—67 (71, 71) sts.

Row 4: With B, purl.

Row 5: With C, k1, m1, k1, *sl 1 wyif, k1, repeat from *  to last 2 sts, k1, m1, k1—69 (73, 73) sts.

Row 6: With A, purl.

Row 7: With B, k1, m1, k2, * sl 1 wyif, k1, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k1, m1, k1—71 (75, 75) sts.

Row 8: With C, purl.

Row 9: With A, k1, m1, k1, * sl 1 wyif, k1, repeat from * to last st, m1, k1—73 (77, 77) sts.

Row 10: With B,  purl.

Row 11: With C, k1, m1, k2, * sl 1 wyif, k1, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k1, m1, k1--75 (79, 79) sts.

Row 12: With A, purl.

Continue to work even in established pat until 84 (96, 96) pat rows completed - 8 1/2 (9 1/2, 9 1/2)”. Bind off.

Fold hood in half lengthwise and sew center seam.

Button Bands

With RS facing, beginning at bottom right front, pick up and k232 (268, 284) sts along right front edge, right neckband, hood, left neckband and left front edge.

Row 1 (WS): Purl.

Row 2: Knit.

Row 3: Purl.

Row 4: Knit, working 4 (5, 5) two-st buttonholes (bind off 2 sts) evenly spaced along right front edge.

Row 5: Purl, casting on 2 sts over each 2 sts bound-off for buttonholes on previous row.

Row 6: Knit.

Row 7: Purl.

Bind off.

Armhole Bands

With RS facing, pick up and k66 (70, 72) sts along armhole.

Row 1: Purl.

Row 2: Knit.

Row 3: Purl.

Rows 4-7: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 twice.

Bind off.

Block pieces lightly. Sew side seams including armhole bands. Sew on buttons. Weave in ends.
