NOTES 1. Shawl is worked in several sections. First the center back triangle is worked. Then the body of the shawl is worked across the side edges of the center back triangle. 2. The body of the shawl is worked, back and forth in rows, from the lower edge of the center back triangle downwards. When back reaches required length, the body is divided into two sides. The sides are worked separately to form the front, lower 'petals' of the shawl. 3. Stitch markers are used to indicate where the second side is to begin, and where the edging is to begin. FINISHING Edging With RS facing, join B with sl st in marked ch-4 sp (for beginning of edging), [sc in same ch-4 sp, ch 3] 5 times (corner made); working around entire outer edge of shawl, work as follows: 1. Work ([sc, ch 3] 4 times, sc, ch 3) in each corner. 2. Work ([sc, ch 3] twice, sc, ch 3) in end of every other row across side edge of shawl. 3. Work ([sc, ch 3] twice, sc, ch 3) in every beginning ch-4 sp across lower edge of shawl. 4. Work ([sc, ch 3] twice, sc, ch 3) in ch-2 sp of every shell across center back of shawl. 5. At end of edging round, join with sl st in first sl st. Fasten off.
Using yarn needle, weave in all ends. Block to measurements, if desired. |
