MATERIALS

Naturally Caron.com Spa
(75% Microdenier Acrylic/25% Rayon from bamboo; 3oz/85g, 251yds/230m):
#0008 Misty Taupe (A): 2 skeins

#0005 Ocean Spray (B): 2 skeins

One circular size U.S. 7 (4.5mm) needle, 32”/73.5cm long or size to obtain gauge

One circular size U.S. 6 (4mm) needle, 32"/73.5cm long

SIZE: Adult

 

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Approximately 12”/30.5cm wide /48”/122cm long

 

GAUGE

In double seed stitch using size U.S. 7 (4.5) needle, 21 sts and 25 rows = 4”/10cm

 

STITCHES USED

Double seed stitch (worked on an even number of sts):

Rows 1 and 2: With A, *k1, p1; repeat from * across row.

Rows 3 and 4: With B, *p1, k1; repeat from * across row.

Repeat Rows 1-4 for double seed st.

Garter stitch (garter st):

Knit every row.

 

NOTE

Circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches.  Do not join stitches, but work back and forth in rows.

Carry yarn not in use loosely along the side of the knitting to avoid a large number of yarn ends to weave in.

 

SCARF

Using smaller circular needle and A, CO 252 sts. Do not join sts, but work back and forth in rows.

Knit 4 rows for garter st.

Change to larger circular needle and work in double seed st until piece measures approximately 11 ½" from CO edge, ending with patt Row 2.

Change to smaller circular needle and A.

Knit 4 rows for garter st.

BO all sts in knit.

 

FINISHING

Block scarf. Using yarn needle, weave in ends.

Lay scarf out flat and then flip one end creating a twist in the scarf.  Sew short ends of scarf together maintaining this twist.
